RMAA Indoor Championships
The 2nd shoot of the Rocky Mountain Archery Association indoor target series. Registration information can be found at Rockymountainarcheryassociation.com
Indoor Championships
The RMAA Indoor Championships utilize the NFAA blue face target. Participants shoot two NFAA 300 games over the course of the weekend. Archers are allowed two ends for practice before beginning the scored portion. For scoring, they complete 12 ends, shooting five arrows per end. After the sixth scored end, archers on the bottom targets switch to the top, and those on the top move to the bottom to ensure fairness. Archers have the option to select either a five-spot or single-spot target. Those using the five-spot target may place multiple arrows into the same spot, with the exception of competitors in the PRO Class, who are not permitted to do so. Once scoring begins on a particular target, archers must continue using that same target throughout. Distance varies by age group: Cubs and Peewees shoot from 10 yards, while all other archers compete from 20 yards. A time limit of four minutes is allotted for shooting the five arrows in each end. Scoring is managed collaboratively, with two archers per bale responsible for keeping score and one archer calling the values. If a fourth archer is present on the bale, their role is to oversee operations and ensure everything runs smoothly. In the event of a question or discrepancy regarding an arrow's value, the archer whose arrow is in question may request a judge's review, and the judge's decision is final. Penalties apply for rule violations: If a sixth arrow is shot in an end, the highest-scoring arrow is removed, and a point is deducted from the end's total. Arrows shot into the wrong target are pulled by a line judge and scored as zeros.
